An asphalt resurface or patch is usually necessary when only the top layer of overlaid asphalt is damaged, meaning that the damage is not very extensive, and needs repair. We really try and make the job look as clean and natural as possible by blending the new layer with the old layer as best we can.
Asphalt Sealing
Another way to reduce raveling and to enrich dry, weathered surfaces is through the application of a fog seal. This type of asphalt seal is in the form of a light, black fog and is sprayed on the surface of the desired section of asphalt requiring protection.
The fog seal also helps to lock stones in place and can prevent those troublesome, unwanted 'flying' stones that always happen to conveniently smash into your windshield.
